And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming
It’s a fact, our Lord is coming! The question is this, how will he find us? Will he find you unprepared for his coming? Having failed to trust him as your Savior. That will be a sad day for many. Will he find us in a rut, a state of mediocrity? Some one said a rut is just a grave with both ends kicked out! Or will he find us like John, close to Him, loving Him, serving Him? After all, to know Him is to love Him and to love Him is to serve Him. Jesus said…” Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” The name Lord means master! Is Jesus your master? Is He the one leading you? Is He the one you lean on in the good times as well as the bad? John ended up exiled on the isle of Patmos. Even there he was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day and was able to hear the voice of the Lord. In the end of the Revelation he said…”Even so come Lord Jesus!” I sure don’t want to be found in a dull state of mediocrity, do you? To do so would mean I’d be ashamed before Him at His coming. It would be much better to serve Him gladly, that I might have confidence in that day. Don’t you agree?
