And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Vain means empty,devoid of truth.  The Gospel, how that Christ died for our sin according to the scripture,  was buried,  and rose again the third day according to the scripture!
Think of it…the Gospel is not, nor ever will be, devoid of truth because the Gospel IS the truth!  Jesus’s death on the cross is the ONLY remedy for sin.  Jesus said I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE!   It is the joy of my life to see this Savior who died and rose again speak to another’s need of salvation.   He died,  but he is not a dead God!  When the Lord is dealing with a person’s heart, that individual knows full well the one doing the dealing is very much alive and well!  Since Christ is risen, I’m just gonna keep on preaching,  keep on praying, and keep on telling others the old story!  It’s the old story that never gets old!  It’s the old story that must be told!
Some may think God’s people are waisting their time.   We know better!  Countless men and women as well as boys and girls have put their trust in this risen Savior.   God’s people should go forth with this grand message of the Gospel knowing that as sure as our Lord’s death was not in vain neither is our labor in the Lord!  1 Corinthians 15: 57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.  He DID NOT die in vain! We DO NOT labor in vain!  May we go forth and tell the world the greatest story of all time! Amen. Pastor
