Remember the Works of God…

Psalm 77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. Memory can be a wonderful thing!  It can also be something that can absolutely torment an individual.  Let me explain… when we  focus on the works of God, our memory serves us well.  Remember when the Lord began to deal with your heart?  Do you recall the peace that flooded your soul the moment you trusted Jesus?  What about the joy you felt knowing that your sin  had been forgiven, your name written in heaven, the guilt was all gone.   Remember the Lord teaching you from His word? Remember when you began to pray?  Remember when you began to be concerned about the salvation of others?  All this is the Lord at work in our lives!  Precious memories!  Now, I’m reminded of a man who was tormented by his memory.  Abraham told the rich man in Hell…”SON, REMEMBER.”
He’s in Hell with no way out tormented by the memory of God’s goodness.  In his life, he had the good things, but he had neglected the Good Lord!  Lazarus is now comforted, but the rich man is tormented.  Tormented by the flames, by the separation, and by the memories of what could have been, had he only trusted Christ as Savior.  If you can’t remember the works of God in your life, I beg you today to come to Jesus.  He’s waiting with open arms to begin this work in your life.  That way, you can be blessed as you remember and not tormented by your memory forever and forever.  Lord, we bless your name for all your wondrous works. Amen.   Pastor
