Colossians 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
In this verse, people are praying for Paul the Apostle.
Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, In this verse, Paul is praying for the people who are praying for him. In James 5:16, we are instructed to pray one for another. Prayer is the key to fellowship with God and fellowship one with another.
It would be very difficult to remain upset with someone you’re praying for. The songwriter said… “I need the prayers of those I love.”
I would add those I love need me to pray for them as well. Think of where we might be, what we might be doing, had it not been for others who sacrificed their time and prayed for us. It is very humbling to know that someone loves me enough to pray for me. There’s a verse in Thessalonians that simply says… Brethren pray for us. Paul was not asking selfishly for prayer. Even while locked up in prison he was asking the church to pray for open doors, that he might speak the mysteries of Christ. Truly, truly, prayer changes things, and it changes us as well. We have access. Let us come boldly to the throne of grace today! Amen. Pastor
