Psalm chapter 3…vs 5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.  In Psalm 3, David is fleeing from his son, Absolom.  When do we need the Lord to sustain us…ALWAYS…even when we sleep!  Our Lord never slumbers or falls asleep!
Psalm 121:4  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  Why do we need the Lord to sustain us… in verse 1 because there are many that rise up against us!  In verse 2, it is said there is no help for us in God. Why would he sustain us… TO PROVE THE OPPOSITION WRONG!  In verse 3 He is our shield! In verse 7&8 He is our salvation!  What must we do when the enemy of God’s people rears his ugly head?  First…PRAY!   Vs 4
I cried unto the Lord!  Then…  Don’t be afraid!
Vs 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
No wonder David could slay a lion, a bear, and a giant…
He knew how to pray and not be afraid! Perfect Love casteth out fear!  David knew the Lord would sustain him!
