The gift of friendship…

What is a friend? Websters 1828 defines a friend as someone attached by affection, esteem, and respect, who desires their company and seeks their happiness.  A Christian friend would be someone who encourages you in your walk with God.  True friendship is not something you can turn on and off. Consider… Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
As we near the coming of our Lord, I believe God’s people will need each other in a great way.
We should meet for prayer, the expounding of the scripture,  and just loving fellowship.  I could be low, and the Lord use you to lift me up! Contrariwise, you could be low, and perhaps I could be instrumental in lifting you up!  But if we never spend time together,  it would be much more difficult to exhort one another the way Hebrews 10 instructs us.  To be like Jesus is to be a friend… Jesus did not yoke up with sinners, but He was truly a friend to them!  Proverbs 18:24  A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.  Tell me, do you know Him?  Pastor
