Jude 20-21 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. How we need to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus! Recently, we have been constructing a playground at the back of our church property. I’m thinking about the phrase in our text… BUILDING UP! Before we began construction, there had to be a plan. It wasnt on paper, but it was between the pastors’ ears! Now, that can be dangerous for sure. I told one of our ladies that my brainstorms have a way of turning into a drizzle! Here’s my point… before we could build up… that’s the part you see, we had to dig down! The playground has turned out pretty good but hardly anyone will recognize all the concrete below the grounds surface. Before we can build up, there must be a proper foundation!
Listen to Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. If you are not BUILDING UP on the rock, the Lord Jesus, then you’re building on the sand. It is important to build, just remember to build on the blessed Rock of Ages! Amen.
