Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Oh, the joy of having children!
So precious, are they! They learn to talk, to walk, to eat by themselves, to bathe themselves. First thing you know, they are graduating kindergarten! How sweet! Then, before long, trust me, the time flies by. Now there’s another graduation, high school! Here’s where it sometimes gets tough, mom n dad are saying goodbye as they observe the independence in their child’s life. Many times, college requires a move, a separation that’s not always easy. As a pastor, I’ve had the privilege to see many of our young people trust Jesus. I’ve watched them mature both physically and spiritually. One thing I’ve learned as a parent, grandparent, and now great grandparent; there comes a time we must let them go and trust that they will follow the Lord’s plan for their lives. It’s not easy to let go, but it is necessary! Though we turn them loose in the physical sense, we should never turn them loose in the spiritual sense. We must pray for our graduates. Let them know there is a God in heaven to guide them, and a mom and dad at home that will forever love them! Graduation is a happy time for the graduates, and with proper perspective can be a glorious time for parents as well. God bless our Grads! God bless our moms and dads! Pastor
