Matthew 9:2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
A couple things I’d like to point out in this story… first lets notice the hindrances… here’s a man that had palsy, a crippling disease.   He was desperate to get to Jesus.  He was hindered by his CONDITION.  He was hindered by the CROWD.  He was hindered by the CONSTRUCTION.   There was a roof, a huge obstacle between him and Jesus!  We’ve noticed the hindrances,  let’s take a look now at the help!  The man sick of the palsy was helpless in and of himself.  He was helped by four people!  Aren’t you glad for the PEOPLE the Lord has allowed in your life to help.  Then notice please… He was helped by our Lords PRESENCE!  Jesus was in the house!  Business picks up greatly when Jesus is present!
Lastly, he was helped by the Lord’s POWER!   Jesus alone has power on earth to forgive sin.  He’s the Son of God!  He’s as much a part of the Godhead as the Father and the Spirit!  When the bystanders saw what happened they glorified God!  They never saw it on this fashion!  People are leaving this world every day, many are unprepared.   Grab a corner of the stretcher and let’s do what we can to get them to Jesus. Amen. He’s in the house!
