In Christ or in Trouble?

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  Then notice…
Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:  In the first verse we are in Christ.  Then, in the second verse, Christ is in us.  How can you beat that?  I’m in Him, and He’s in me!  Glory!  Many people struggle with the thought of being secure in Christ.  Listen, it is Jesus that said…I give unto them eternal life and they shall NEVER perish!  How can we be so secure?  Because of our pardon, yes.  Because of our position in Christ, a thousand times yes!  Some say well, I guess this means you can do whatever you want and still go to Heaven.  Get this, if you are a new creature IN CHRIST, your want to changes!  If there is no desire to leave the old sinful life and take up the new life in  Christ,  there’s a problem! A big problem!  The person who has been forgiven and made anew now has a desire to please the one who offered forgiveness and mercy.  To put it bluntly, if there’s no change, there’s no Christ!  If a person is not in Christ,  they’re in trouble.  Lord, thank you for saving me, for changing me, and for your patience in making me more and more like you. Amen.  Pastor
