1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;   Did you ever wonder how people can just so non chalantly take someone’s life?
Then there are those that rape, steal, sexually abuse children and hardly flinch while doing so. Others practice sodomy and proclaim there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.  What has happened?  They have listened to lies,  and spoken lies,  to the point that there conscious no longer bothers them at all.  It is seared, as if with a hot iron.  There are procedures now where a Dr goes into the spine and sears nerves to deaden the pain.  When the conscious is seared it becomes dead to the truth.  It also has no regard for others and the consequences of sin.  As believers,  it is imperative that we stay close to truth.  When we stray away from truth we are setting ourselves up to believe a lie.  The seared conscious does not happen overnight.   The process is slow and deliberate.   This is the time of year when many head off to college,  or back to school.   I beg you in Jesus name, don’t believe the lies that the world is spuing!  You know it’s a lie the moment it contradicts God’s word.  Lord, help us to be tenderhearted,  judging sin in our lives swiftly and deliberately,  that our conscience may remain void of offence.   Amen.  Pastor
