Ambassadors for Christ…

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary, an ambassador, is defined as a minister of the highest rank representing a prince or state in a foreign court.  Think of it, Jesus Christ,  the prince of peace, has chosen us to represent him on the earth.  This world is not our home.  Our real home as believers is Heaven.  Yet, while we are here on the earth, we have the blessed privilege to represent our King and his throne.  Notice in the text what the major concern of the Ambassador is, reconciliation!  We pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  In other words, if Jesus were walking the earth today, his would be a ministry of reconciliation.   Sin has seperated mankind from God.  It is our blessed duty to represent Heaven while we’re on earth.  Telling people through our words and deeds there is a way to be reconciled.  It is through the blood of our dear Savior’s cross.  Jesus went to Calvary and purchased our eternal redemption so that we no longer had to be separated from a Holy God.  Have you been reconciled? Redeemed?  Regenerated?  If not, why not?  As an ambassador of heaven, I’m begging you,  don’t delay.  Now is the accepted time. Now is the day of salvation!  Amen.  Pastor
