Keeping Watch…

Psalm 19:14  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
What is it that you meditate on in your daily walk with Jesus?  One way that the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart will be found acceptable to God is to simply be sure our thought processes are based on scripture.  Consider… Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  This is part of the blessing promised in Psalm 1:1.  What if we weighed our thoughts, our words, and our deeds in light of what God says in His word?  The latter part of our text verse tells us that the Lord is our strength and our redeemer.  Paul said I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me!  He can help us bring into captivity our thoughts as well as our actions.  We cannot accomplish this alone.  We need His help! Consider… 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  This is a tall order, I very well know!  Think of this…
An old preacher said… I can’t keep the birds from flying over my head, but I can keep them from building a nest in my hair!
There will no doubt at times be thoughts that are displeasing to God pass through our minds.  Refuse to dwell there.  We must ask the Lord to help us that our thoughts, our words, and our deeds would be acceptable in His sight.  Amen.  Pastor
