Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Another verse… Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. A godly husbands love for his wife is to be a sacrificial love. It is a love pictured in how Christ loves the church. It is noteworthy that our relationship to Christ both on earth and in Heaven is pictured in the marriage relationship. I’m thinking of a couple that will soon be married 72 years. Think of it! One man with one woman for 72 years! Even today I see the sacrifices set forth in this godly husbands love for his dear wife as he cares for her in her illness. The marriage vows… better or worse, sickness and in health, til death do us part. The godly man takes these vows very seriously and intends by the grace of God to keep them.
When trials come, and they will,
the godly husband will become a better husband, not a bitter husband. Job could have easily became bitter. In the end, the Lord made him a better man! Husbands, love your wives! Your sons are watching you! In the end, you’ll be glad you did. Amen. Pastor
