Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
In Psalm 23 David says… The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  Our verse in Hebrews tells us that Jesus is the great shepherd of the sheep.  When we belong to the shepherd, and follow the shepherd, notice some things our great shepherd provides.  He provides great PEACE!  He is the God of peace.  Many will go through Christmas season without peace simply because they are without the shepherd.  Then, He provides great HOPE.  Who brought again our Lord Jesus from the dead.  Most of us have loved ones who used to be with us at Christmas time.  We have a great hope that our shepherd will see to it that we are reunited with them in glory.  It is the BLESSED HOPE!  Lastly, think about this as we give and receive gifts this Christmas season… The great shepherd provided the greatest SACRIFICE… through the blood of the everlasting covenant.
Greater love hath no man than this… may we remember the great shepherd as we follow Him through this glorious season.  As the little boy in Sunday school said… The Lord is my shepherd,  what else could I want! Amen.  Pastor
