Matthew 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. While Mary is rejoicing in the birth of Jesus, and Elizabeth in her old age is rejoicing in the birth of John, there are many others who are absolutely heartbroken. Can you imagine the grief that exploded in the hearts of those moms and dads whose little ones were slain? This Christmas may the Lord help us to be on the lookout for someone who is grieving, someone we might encourage in their time of need. They are all around us. Those who are terminally ill, those who have lost a spouse, or perhaps a child. Then there are those who have lost a parent or a good friend. Job said… man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble. While the multitudes are enjoying the Holiday, there are some that are enduring the Holiday. May God help you and I to make it a little easier for some troubled soul.
Amen. Pastor
