1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: I believe nothing pleases our Lord more than faith! Without faith it is impossible to please Him. When we are wishy washy in our faith, the Lord likens that to being double minded. Our Lord is absolutely trustworthy! He knows what we need even before we ask! Ask in faith, ask in accordance with His will, and the answer will come. Perhaps it won’t be the answer always that we desire, but if we love the Lord, it will be the answer that’s best in His purposes for our life. Not only do we need to pray with a confident heart, but a clean heart is required as well. Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: To regard means to know something is wrong, and yet refuse to repent of that wrong. An unforgiving spirit is wrong, envy is wrong, pride is wrong, evil speaking is wrong, on and on we could go. Most church going folks see sin differently than God does. They think adultery, drunkenness, stealing, lust, sodomy and the like are the big sins. I am a firm believer that these are gross sins of the flesh. I also believe the sins of the flesh are not keeping us from revival in our churches, but the sins of the spirit are! If we regard ANY iniquity in our hearts, the Lord will not hear us. We need a clean heart. Here’s how…1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
