Psalm 40:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. David in many situations found himself with no choice but to wait on the Lord. The enemy was bigger than he was, but not bigger than his God. Goliath was a giant, David went to face him in that valley, knowing that he was no match for Goliath, but knowing at the same time Goliath was no match for his God! We too face many important situations in our lives. It behooves us to learn to wait on the Lord. To wait is to trust. Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Young people would be much happier if they would learn to pray, to wait, to trust the Lord to send the person of HIS CHOOSING to marry. Preachers are instructed to wait… Romans 12:7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Waiting is never easy, but it is necessary to please God. There was a time in my ministry when I was between churches, I was confused. Three churches wanted me to come. There was another church that God had put in my heart. That church was in a turmoil. It was so tempting just to proceed with my life and accept another pastorate. It seemed every time I opened my Bible the Lord would place the word WAIT in front of me. I waited eight months and the Lord put me in that church that he had put in my heart! God is good! So good! You have heard it said… some things are worth waiting for… I say our Lord is always worthy of waiting for! Wait patiently on the Lord, in this world as well as the next, you’ll be glad you did! Amen.
