2 Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. Here’s the Bible definition of an evangelist…  A bringer of good tidings, an evangelist… The name given to the New Testament heralds of salvation through Christ who are not apostles.  1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:  This is the Gospel message!  This is the good news that every child of God should be spreading throughout this sin cursed world we live in.  Many will never deliver the gospel simply because they have never received the gospel.  The Lord saved my soul in a Sunday night service in 1987.  On Tuesday evening another man and I went out to visit in the community.   The Lord led me to my first cousin’s home.  I simply shared with him what Jesus did for me on Sunday night and told my cousin the Lord would do the same for him.  He bowed at the coffee table and trusted Jesus, right then,  right there!  At the time I didn’t realize I was doing the work of an evangelist.  I had no such title.  What I did have was a burden.  I wanted the whole world to experience the joy and the peace that can only come from knowing your sins are forgiven,  and you now have a home in Heaven!  To this day the greatest joy, outside of knowing Jesus myself,  is having the privilege to introduce others the the best friend a man could ever have, the Lord Jesus.   You don’t have to be a preacher to do the work of an evangelist.   Just tell the old, old story and watch the Lord do the work!  Easter is coming.  Why not take time and tell someone what Easter is all about.  You could begin with a question… Could I tell you what Easter means to me?  You’d be surprised how many do not have a clue.  Let’s band together,  and do the work of an evangelist!  Amen.  Pastor
