Mark 14:21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.
Can you imagine our Lord Jesus saying this? Good that someone had never been born. Coming from the same God that formed us, the same Lord that said we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We were created by Him, for Him, not to reject Him or betray Him. If we could interview Judas Iscariot I believe he would tell us Jesus was right. It would have been better if I had never been born!
He would tell us the most foolish thing he ever did was to choose silver over the Savior. Many today are doing the exact same thing in one form or another. Jesus understood the destiny of the one who would betray Him. I’m afraid today that this kind of strong language is frowned upon in the world. When I look at my children and grandchildren I realize that if they leave this world without Jesus, truly it would been better had they never been born. Judas regretted his decision, but it was too late. Hell is full of people today who regret choosing the temporal over the eternal. These words spoken by our Lord at His last supper were strong language indeed.
If we could ask anyone who left this world without Jesus, they would agree with Him..
“good were it for that man if he had never been born.” Strong language from the Savior that was about to suffer a cruel death at Calvary. I heard a preacher say… “There are many roads that lead AROUND the cross, just remember, none of them lead to Heaven.” Everyone in Heaven will be there as a result of placing their faith in the one who died, was buried, and rose again the third day. His name is Jesus. He said in John 14:6 … I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Strong language, spoken by the wonderful Savior. Amen. Pastor
