Decisions,  Decisions…

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  The child of God is faced with decisions every day.  We can make wise decisions if we will incorporate a few things into the decision making process.  First, we should acknowledge that we need HELP from the Lord.   He desires that we look to Him and lean on Him when we need answers.  James tells us that if we lack wisdom we can ask of God and he will help us.  Then as we seek God’s help in the decisions we make, we should also remember we must HONOR the Lord in those decisions as well.  Stop and ask this question,  will this Honor my Lord?  When Naomi encouraged Ruth to remain in Moab, Ruth refused.  She followed Naomi back to her people and more importantly,  her God.  Ruth honored God in her decision and as a result God honored Ruth!  He led her to the right field.   The Lord allowed her to meet and marry the right man, Boaz, all because she made the right decision!  She would be the grandmother of King David.  But wait, there’s more!  Ruth, being a Gentile,  would be in the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ!  Moab was God’s wash pot. One decision took Ruth from the wash pot to worship and placed her in the King’s family!  What a blessing!  Read the book of Ruth, it’s an old,  old story that never gets old!  Lastly,  when we are making decisions,  we not only need God’s HELP, and need to HONOR God,  but wise decisions will HELP OTHERS as well.  Your family will be blessed as you make wise decisions.  Your Father in Heaven will be blessed as you make wise decisions.  Your friends will be blessed as well.  Decisions,  decisions.  Listen to Joshua, choose ye this day… as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!  Amen.  Pastor
