James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: There are some that over complicate the Christian life. To be a good Christian and a good reflection of the Lord Jesus is not complicated. Listen to these verses…37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
When a person is saved, the love of God is shed abroad in their heart. Let love be without dissimulation. This means without hypocrisy. God’s love is without partiality. We are told in Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: This is true of our Lord and the same ought to be true of you and me!
It is a royal law because it reflects royalty! We are God’s ambassadors here on earth
Today, let’s love Him with all our hearts, and love those we encounter also. After all, now abideth faith, hope, charity, but the greatest of these is charity.
We love Him because He first loved us, we love others because He placed that love in us by His Spirit. Lord, help us this day to fulfill the royal law.
Amen. Pastor
