Who Cares?

Jonah 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
Jonah 4:1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.  The people of Nineveh were violent and wicked.  Jonah, knowing that God was a merciful God, did not want to go to the city and preach to them.  He knew that there was a chance they would repent and be spared the judgement of God.  Jonah cared more about the SHADE God had provided than he did the SOULS of men in Nineveh. Our Lord has provided for you and me today. We have more time saving devices and yet have less time than ever.  People need the Lord!  God help us that we will not be guilty of being consumed by the things that God has provided to the point that we neglect the souls of others.  You and I know the cure for sin.  There is a balm in Gilead!  The question is, do we care enough about others to share the gospel with them? Would it please us or sadden us if our enemies repented and received forgiveness from our Lord?   Who cares?  Jesus cares!
The people that are in Heaven care!  The souls that are in Hell care!  The rich man who lift his eyes in Hell realized he could not get any relief, so he cried- “Send Lazarus that he might tell my five brothers not to come to this place of torment.”  It is too late for anyone to care after they leave this world.  Christian friend, shame on us if we have an attitude like Jonah!  We should certainly care because the one who cares the most lives in us.
Does Jesus care?  Oh yes, He cares!  May we let Him have His way in our lives, for then the world around us may know Jesus cares for their soul.  Amen.  Pastor
