2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Patrick Henry said… “I have now disposed of all my property to my family. There is one thing more I wish I could give them and that is faith in Jesus Christ. If they had that and I had not given them a single shilling, they would have been rich; and if they had not that, and I had given them all the world, they would be poor indeed.”
This world has gone crazy seeking those things that will never satisfy. Someone said so aptly, “If you want to feel rich, stop and count all the things you have that money cannot buy.” Jesus purchased our eternal redemption at Calvary.
Money cannot buy a place in heaven. Money cannot buy health. Money cannot buy love. I, for one, am so blessed! Material things are fleeting. The riches in Christ are eternal! I wonder how foolish people will feel at the end of the way to discover all those things they lived for are so temporal. Don’t make the mistake of focusing on the temporal and neglecting the eternal. Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? The true riches are to be found in Christ alone. May God help us to be found rich at His coming! Amen. Pastor
