Proverbs 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Microwaves and air fryers have made it really convenient to warm up left overs. Now I’m in the camp of having leftovers once in a while, but not everyday! Many of God’s people never learn the blessing of giving God first place in their lives as well as their finances. Don’t you think it would be foolish to trust the Lord with your eternal soul and not trust him with your everyday life and your money? My dad told me years ago that he discovered that God could get way more accomplished with 90% than he could with 100%. God loves a cheerful giver. Here’s a little poem…
Leftovers are such humble things,
We would not serve to a guest,
And yet we serve them to our Lord
Who deserves the very best.
We give to Him leftover time,
Stray minutes here and there.
Leftover cash we give to Him,
Such few coins as we can spare.
We give our youth unto the world,
To hatred, lust and strife;
Then in declining years we give
To him the remnant of our life.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I have learned by experience, our Lord will never allow us to out give Him! I don’t want my Lord to look at my life and say…
Leftovers, AGAIN? Amen. Pastor
