1 Corinthians 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.  Labor Day in America constitutes a day off.  We celebrate labor by resting from our labor.  Many will take the opportunity to work in the yard or around the house as fall approaches.   Our verse tells us as God’s people we should be steadfast in our work for the Lord.  The Bible tells us that there remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.  As we work for Jesus there are several things we must remember.   This work is a great work.  This work is an important work.  This work is not in vain!  Sometimes we get tired.  We wonder is it really worth it to serve the Lord?  I promise you as the songwriter said… ” One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase, so bravely run the race, til we see Christ!  It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus!  We’ll work til Jesus comes, we’ll work, till Jesus comes, we’ll work til Jesus comes, and we’ll be going home!  Are you involved in this great work?  Would you like to have a crown to lay at the feet of Jesus?  Would you like to hear our Lord say “Well done!”
