1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  The love of God perfected means His love is matured in our lives.  When we first get saved, we are  babes in Christ.  As we grow in grace and knowledge,  we mature in the faith.  As we mature in the love of God, there is more and more desire to learn of Him,  obey Him, please Him, and be more like Him!   Blessed assurance comes to those walk in obedience to His will and His word.  We need not be surprised if while walking in our own way, or in disobedience to the clear instruction given in scripture,  if doubt and fear begin to creep into our hearts.  Consider… 1 John 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.  And also…

He that feareth is not made perfect in love.  Do you think the Lord wants us to live in fear?   He desires that we live and love in such a way that we  can hold our head up when He comes and declare…THERE HE IS!  I’ve been LOOKING for Him, I’ve been LIVING for Him, I’ve been LEANING on Him, I’ve been LEARNING of Him!  What a way to live!  Watch and pray youngins, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh!  Even so come, Lord Jesus!
