Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  Be not conformed!
I’m reminded of a story I heard years ago…A little boy had a dog. The dog looked like a mix breed mut.  A man asked little boy what kind of dog he had…Its a police dog mister…well he doesn’t much look like a police dog…to which the little boy replied…He’s in the secret service!  That is exactly where too many of God’s people are…In the secret service!  The word conformed is only used twice in our Bible.  In our text we are told…Be NOT CONFORMED…then in Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
We find the words BE CONFORMED!  In order to avoid being chameleon like in our Christian life we must pay attention to both phrases.  BE NOT and BE.  When it comes to the world, BE NOT, when it comes to the Lord…BE like Him that loved us and gave himself for us!  Lord, please help us as your children to be less and less like the world, and to be more and more like Jesus.  We ask this in your name.
