Daniel decides…

According to the Bible, Daniel made some decisions that greatly affected his service for the Lord.  In chapter one he decides concerning his diet.  The choice not to defile himself with the kings meat was obviously met with God’s approval.   Daniel 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.  It’s ALWAYS better to go with God and often ten times better!  Another place that Daniel decides is the in the prayer closet!  Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed,  and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.  Daniel didn’t wait on an emergency to pray, he just refused to stop praying at the decree of the king!  Notice the words…as he did aforetime!  Praying like he always had before!  He was facing a den of lions. Here’s the truth, Daniel was more comfortable facing the lions with prayer than facing God without prayer.  Oh how we need to pray!  Someone once said…pray as if everything depends on God and work as though everything depends on you. Daniel was not just praying in faith, he was practicing faith as well! Faith without works is dead!  The decisions Daniel made were proof his faith was very much alive and well. Can the same be said of us?  Pastor
