Don’t be deceived…Pt 3

One of the greatest examples in scripture of being deceived  is found in the life of David, the man after God’s own heart.  He was deceived by thinking his place was relaxing in bed while his warriors were resisting in battle.
David was also deceived by thinking he could sleep with another man’s wife and get by with it.  It gets worse!  Deception always does!  Bathsheba is now pregnant, and David gets Uriah drunk, thinking he can cover up his sin.  Now, it gets even more severe.  David instructed Joab to take Uriah to the hottest part of the battle and then retire from him, leaving him alone to be killed by the enemy.  Sin is like a snow ball, it starts rolling down the hill and the first thing you know there’s a snowman!  David is deceived into thinking all is covered up now.  God sends the prophet Nathan to expose the matter fully.  No longer deceived,  broken, and repentant,  David gets right with God in Ps 51.  Consider… James 1:14-16 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Do not err, my beloved brethren.  Do not err,  don’t be deceived.   Pastor
