1 John 1:5  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  This verse is awesome!  Notice God is!  Not God was, nor God will be, but rather God is! Bless His Name!  God was light for the children of Israel in the pillar of fire to lead them by night!  Oh yes, God’s light was there to lead them, but God’s light IS here to lead us!  Consider…Psalm 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  Thy word IS a lamp!  I’m thrilled to know the same light that led God’s people through the wilderness IS the same light leading God’s people today.  God’s light is not only there to lead us, it’s there to inspect us as well.   If you know company is coming to your house, you may spruce things up a little.  Maybe throw a few items in the basement or the closet.  I’ve often wondered how the lady of the house would respond if someone said hey, your house looks great, would you mind if I took my flashlight and looked up under your fridge?  Are you kidding me!  Panic would set in!  Why, because the kitchen looks great, even under fridge not too bad…UNTIL you shine the light underneath!  Now consider…Psalm 139:23  Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
This God in whom is no darkness,  shines His light into our hearts and reveals things that cannot be detected on the surface.  I’m glad God IS light when I need someone to guide me in a straight path.  I’m also glad that same God IS light when I need someone to straighten me out!  How blessed we are to know this God, who even today, IS LIGHT!!!
