Abraham knew better than to let the wicked king of Sodom take credit for any of his earthly blessings.  It might not seem possible,  but how many in this world take credit for their own fortune, health, and happiness.  Consider… James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  We as God’s youngins know that everything we are, and everything we have is a gift from our Heavenly Father.  When we acknowledge this, it keeps us humble, and delivers us from a spirit of pride. After all, it is in Him we have our very being.  Jesus said without me you can do nothing!
Some might say…But I’ve worked hard for what I have!  Who gave you those hands? Who gave you those feet? Who gave you the ability to learn a trade, a profession?  The world would be a much better place if people only realized WHO and WHERE it all comes from!  Here’s another thing that would help…we should realize how TEMPORARY the things of this world are. Paul said, for we look not at the things that are seen, but the things that are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are ETERNAL!
Many are spending all their energy on the gifts, why not stop today to concentrate on the giver.  After all, He’s the source of it all!  There’s a roof up above me, I’ve a good place to sleep, food on my table, shoes on my feet, you gave me your love Lord and a fine family,  thank you Lord, for your blessings on me!
