John the Baptist Pt 1…

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.  Let’s see what this entails!  First, it means one would be a light in a dark world. John was not that light but was sent to bear witness of the true light which lighteth every man in this world.  The true light is Jesus! John would later say he was not worthy to unlatch the shoes of the Savior.   Yet he would boldly declare,  Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world!  In other words John was saying, Don’t look at me…  LOOK AT JESUS!  When we are living like John, we’re never trying to draw attention to ourselves but point others to the Savior.  Consider… Luke 1:16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.  John was a humble man yet a very bold man.   Jesus said in one place there was not a greater than John.
Oh, to live in such a way as to be the forerunner of Jesus in someone’s life.  God uses us sometimes to prepare the way for Jesus in the lives of others.
Are you being a light? If so, the Lord is on the increase!  Are you pointing others to Him?  He’s on the increase!   Is He the one you want others to see?  He’s on the increase!  Will we boldly tell others of Him?  In order to do so… we MUST decrease!
Jude 1:22  And of some have compassion, making a difference:  John made a difference,  he gave us the recipe to do the same! Amen!
