Matthew 22:32-33 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
I recall years ago hearing an easy way to remember the doctrine of the Sadducees…They don’t believe in the resurrection…that is very sad, you see! The scripture tells us that if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men MOST MISERABLE! I don’t know about you, but I’m not miserable! The Gospel message is that Jesus died, was buried, and bless His name he rose again the third day! All of this is according to the scripture. We are approaching Easter. Are we still astonished at His doctrine? Astonished means to be struck with amazement! I’m amazed that he died for me! I’m amazed that he lives within me! I’m amazed that the likes of Him can use the likes of me! I’m amazed that soon He’ll be coming back for me, and all His youngins! He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today, He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way…you ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart! Lord, please help us to never lose the wonder of it all. Amen
