2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? Here’s some things to think about as you pursue a relationship… does the person I am interested in know the Lord?
Many have proceeded in a relationship, thinking… I’ll win her over, I’ll win him over. Rarely does it work that way! Most of the time, the unbeliever ends up hindering the believer.
There are times when things work out because God is merciful. Then consider this… does the person you’re interested in love the Lord. It’s not judging to ask… Do you pray? Read your Bible? Attend church regularly? Remember this… the person that believes right, behaves right! Is the person you’re interested in asking you to do something that should be reserved for the marriage relationship? Lastly, can you picture spending the remainder of your life with this person? If you date right, chances are you will marry right. If a person doesn’t respect you before marriage, they probably won’t after marriage either. This is a touchy subject for sure. May I encourage you to look to the Lord in your pursuit of happiness. There will be no lasting happiness outside of God’s will for your life. One man, one woman, one lifetime,
that’s God’s plan. If you have blown it, I have good news, we serve a merciful Lord and Saviour. Amen. Pastor
