Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Genuine truth and love are never at odds with each other, but rather compliment each other! Jesus told us… if ye love me, keep my commandments. His commandments are not grievous, why? Because we love Him! We love Him because He first loved us. One of the evidences of salvation is love for the brethren. Another is love for the Bible. Yet another is love for those who are outside the household of faith. We should be willing to speak the truth, always remembering the truth is to be spoken in love. I recall the story of the rich young ruler. He asked Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to sell his goods and give to the poor. Yet, Jesus knew he loved his riches and that the rich young ruler would fail the test.
Here’s the kicker… He… Jesus… beholding him, loved him! Jesus spoke the truth, in love.
Let’s pray our Lord will enable us to do the same! I have a saying… no one cares how much you know, till they know how much you care! Amen. Pastor
