In the world,  not of the world…

1 John 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.  God’s people should live in such a way as to reflect God’s son.  The moon has no light in and of itself but it’s brightness appears as a result of reflecting the sun.  Consider this verse…
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.  Did you know they were not called Christians as a compliment?  They were called Christians because those around them observed their life and deemed them to be like Christ.  To be a true Christian is to be like Christ!  The disciples did not call themselves Christians,  those around them did.  It has not happened often in my life but it has happened…
Someone says… you’re a Christian, aren’t you?  Or,  are you a preacher?   It is extremely humbling to know that someone noticed the difference.   Do you pray over your food? In public?
Do your neighbors observe your family leaving home about same time every Sunday?   To be as He is… by the way, that’s impossible thru the flesh.  To be as He is is only possible as we yield to His Holy Spirit.  Are you a Christian? If so in the truest sense of the word… others know it!  Whosoever believeth on Him shall NOT be ashamed.  Ever hear someone say… If he’s a Christian the woods are full of them!  I sure don’t want to be in that category,  do you?  Pastor
