The steps of a good king!

2 Kings 18:5-6 He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.
For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.
He trusted in the Lord… that is the very first step in being the person God wants you to be.
Without faith, it is impossible to please Him!  He clave to the Lord… many get started right by trusting and seem to be slack in this area of cleaving to the Lord.  This is something that must be done on purpose.
It must be worked at!  It doesn’t just haphazardly happen.  Consider… Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.  Paul was able to see the grace of God at work in the believers’ lives.  It resulted in a closeness,  as well as a cleaving to the Lord.   Can others see that you are living your life with purpose?  Do they sense your closeness in your walk with Jesus?  As we draw near our Lord’s return, we should desire to be close to Him, to be counted for Him, and to be consecrated in Him!
There’s a world groping in darkness,  may the Lord help us to let our light shine. His name is Jesus! Amen.  Pastor
