The Cure for Complaining…

1 Corinthians 10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
The definition of murmuring…
To murmur, mutter, grumble, say anything against in a low tone…
of those who confer secretly together… of those who discontentedly complain.
The Children of Israel no sooner got across the Red Sea when they began to murmur against Moses and Aaron.  They expressed that it would have been better to have stayed in Egypt.  Are you kidding me!  Why do we gripe and complain in times of hardship?   First, we FORGET the goodness and greatness of our God.  We FORGET His promises.  The cure comes when we REMEMBER the Lord that has a plan and purpose that never fails.  Next, we fail to SEE others around us.
I promise you that whatever you and I may be complaining about, there is someone close by going through something much worse.  Certainly, if we could see the cross and our Lord’s suffering for us, we would know what we’re griping about pales in comparison.   May God help us to open our eyes and be looking for someone else that we might help.  May He also help us to REMEMBER every time he has helped us in the past.  Only the Lord can help us to stop the murmuring and start rejoicing.
After all, all we ever deserved was to die and be banished to an awful place called Hell.  When the difficulties of life are examined in that light, reflection turns into rejoicing,  not complaining.  Paul and Silas didn’t complain.   As a result,  they had the opportunity to explain the gospel to a jailer who will forever be grateful!  Amen.  Pastor
