Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. It truly is comforting to know that not only does our Lord see us, but he knows what we have need of even before we ask. His eyes are upon the righteous. What is it that makes a person righteous? Is it their good deeds? Is it their standing in the community? What is God looking for in order to declare a person righteous? The scripture says… There is none righteous, no, not one! So, how does an individual go from being unrighteous to being righteous in the eyes of a Holy God? The answer is found in the Bible. When we trust Christ as Lord and Savior, His righteousness is imputed to the believer. Now, as the songwriter said… when He sees me, He sees the blood of the Lamb, He sees me as worthy, and not as I am, He views me in garments, as white as the snow, the Lamb of God is worthy, he washed me this I know! An old preacher friend had a saying…
Are you white washed? Or are you washed white? Many will not understand the difference until it’s too late. White washed is what the Pharisees were. They looked good on the outside, but inside was a different story! Consider… Matthew 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Only the precious blood of Jesus, applied to the heart of the born-again believer, can make an individual WASHED WHITE! Our Lord is coming! Your family may not know, your pastor may not know, but Jesus knows. He’s looking for the blood. Is that what He sees in your life? If the answer is yes, there is peace that passes all understanding! Amen. Pastor
