The Mask of Meekness…

Micah 6:8  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?  In this verse of scripture God shows us what is good.  Just as sure as there is something wholesome and good, there will be those under the influence of Satan or the flesh that will try to imitate that which is good.  May I remind you of the Pharisees.   They marked their faces to appear that they were fasting.   They were careful to maintain the external appearance.   Jesus saw right through their mask!
They appeared to be humble when in fact they were full of pride!  Annanias and Saphira got caught up in the mask trap.
They wanted to appear generous all the while keeping back part of the property sale for themselves.   They died as a result.  It’s that time of year when many will put on a mask and go door to door trick or treating.   Let me ask you a question.   Are you wearing a mask that looks like humility and yet carrying a boatload of pride in your heart?  Two things for sure… you know the answer and so does the Lord!  There is so much in the world, even in the church world, that is a facade!  May God help us to be REAL!  Jesus humbled himself and became obedient unto death.  May we humble ourselves under the hand of an almighty God that he may lift us up.  Lord help us to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with you. Amen.  Pastor
