Bible Based Salvation…

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
What is the basis of your salvation?  I recall many conversations over the years when people would tell me why they believed they would go to heaven when they die.  In some cases, almost immediately I knew their salvation was Bible Based.  Words like believe,  saved,  Jesus,  and conviction, were incorporated into their testimony.   Others could talk for ten minutes and never mention ANY of these words.  They embarked on a description of I do this, I don’t do that, etc.  The salvation the Bible teaches is not a list of do’s and dont’s,  but rather have you trusted this man called Jesus?  What have you done with Jesus?  To receive him by faith is life abundant here, as well as life eternal in heaven with Jesus.  To reject Him is to leave this world without hope and enter into a Christ less eternity in Hell.  The Scripture teaches ALL have sinned.  It also teaches the wages of sin is death.  Not just physical death, but the second death also.   Separated from God and God’s people in the lake of fire.  Not only does the Bible convict of sin, it also convinces of the solution.  Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God!  God’s word is then the basis of our relationship with Christ Jesus our Lord.   Many have an experience.  The question is this, does that testimony line up with the book?  If not, why not call on the Lord today?  He promised in his word to save every last one that comes to the  Father by Him!  Amen.
