Please read ALL of Proverbs 2 then notice…  Proverbs 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.  Proverbs 2:9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.  In this chapter we find some prerequisites to understanding the fear of the Lord and righteousness.   Briefly speaking, there are two major requirements found in verse 1 and 2… the WORD OF GOD, and WISDOM.  Let’s look for a moment at what takes place in the believers life when he fears God and understands righteousness.   In verse 11 we find that we will be blessed with discretion.  The ability to discern what is right and what is wrong.  The world we live in today has lost its ability to discern because they have abandoned the Word of God and believe they are wiser than God.   Not only will there be discernment,  there will also be deliverance!  Notice in verse 12…  To deliver thee from the way of the evil MAN… then verse 16… to deliver thee from the strange WOMAN.   In the world we live in,  many have gotten so far away from God they can’t even tell you what a man or woman is!  Notice lastly, not only does the fear of God produce DISCERNMENT and DELIVERANCE,  but it also provides us a wonderful DWELLING!  As we dwell in the land… verse 21, we are able to walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of righteousness!  Verse 20. The Lord is my shepherd… He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for His names sake!  Amen.  Pastor
