Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. On this blessed Thanksgiving day may we remember a few things that should cause our hearts to erupt with Thanksgiving. Remember the peace that only a genuine child of God can enjoy. We must remember what it cost that we might experience this peace. Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. This peace is free to you and I that trust Jesus but it comes at a tremendous price. It cost Jesus His life. Our verse not only speaks of peace, but also speaks of one body… a people, the people of God. It would be impossible to overemphasize the the importance of peace in the body of Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. If we have peace in our hearts, peace in the house of God, and peace in our homes, how can we neglect to be thankful? Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
This is exactly what I intend to do! Will you join me? Amen.
Happy Thanksgiving! Pastor
