Hebrews 11:26  Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
Egypt in the Bible is a type of the world.  No doubt there are riches to be had in this world.   What Moses discovered is there are riches that are out of this world!  Think for a moment about a great paying job.  Perhaps you could retire comfortably at 55 or 60.  Would God be pleased with such a goal in mind?  He certainly could be.  Suppose the job was a Dr or Nurse.  Suppose the heart of the Dr or Nurse was to help people, pray with people, and guide people along by making recommendations concerning their health.  That same family gives to to the work of the Lord cheerfully. Now Suppose there’s another Dr who’s biggest concern is wealth.  A fine car, a fine house, fine clothes, and fine cuisine.  Do you see where I’m coming from?  Even in ministry there are proper and improper motives!  Moses could have had it made in Egypt.   He saw the riches of Egypt  and by faith he saw riches that were much greater!  Here’s a verse for those who desire the riches of Egypt…Proverbs 23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.  Here’s another verse for those who desire
