Proverbs 23:22  Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.  Hearken… Listen up!  I well remember a time as a teenager that I truly believed my dad just needed to get with it!  I knew so much, my old dad knew so little.  Then something happened… I got married and began having children of my own.
It was now discovery time!
Time for me to discover who the really wise one was, and well you know, the opposite of wise, I didn’t say dummy cause you were already thinking it!  I’m acquainted with a daughter who kept on, over and over, telling her mom… ” I wish I had listened.”  There will come a day, especially if we had the privilege of being raised by good parents, that we will thank God for the boundaries they set, as well as the instruction they gave!  A wise person learns from instruction as well as their mistakes.  A wiser person learns from the mistakes of others!  It really does pay to honor our parents,  and ALL those the Lord has placed in a position of authority over us.  You can count on this… the day will surely come when you’ll be glad you did!
