God’s Son, in a Stable…

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.  From the very beginning, it was evidenced that the Son of God’s tenure on the earth would be much different than most.  In Christmas decorations we find mangers constructed so beautifully from wood.  The manger in Jesus’s day was a stone with the top hollowed out to hold feed or water for the animals.   Very crude, to say the least!  There was no room in the inn for Mary and Joseph, or the baby Jesus.   God is letting
us know from the very beginning that Jesus’s journey on earth would be one of tremendous humility.   He humbled Himself to leave Heaven and come to earth.  He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death,  even the death of the cross.  On a cold winters night in February of 1987 He humbled Himself to come where I was,  and speak to my heart.  Thank the Lord, after 27 years of NO ROOM FOR JESUS in my life, I humbled myself, admitted I was a sinner,  and received the greatest gift ever offered to mankind,  Jesus.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God gave us His Son, His Son gave His life, have you made room for Him this Christmas season?  Oh, what a Savior! Amen.  Pastor
