Revelation 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
From the foundation of the world our Lord understood his mission.  He knew that He would be born in a sinless manner, He would live a sinless life, and that He would give that life on the cross, not for the sinless, but for a sinful world.   The disciples could not understand that.  They knew the Master, but did not know his mission.  He came to seek and to save that which was lost.  The just would die for the unjust.  I am very much afraid that many of God’s people, though they know the Master, have never come to grips with the mission.  We are told in scripture… As He is, so are we in this world.  Let me clarify by asking a few questions… Why did Jesus save us?  Do we have a mission?  If so, what is that mission?  Are we fulfilling that mission or neglecting it?  Jesus saved us because He loves us!  Yes, absolutely we have a mission. Our mission as believers is to let others know that He loves them too!  So much so that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day!  How sad at the judgement seat of Christ to discover that we knew the Master, yet neglected the mission.  Lord Jesus,  help us to be a good witness, to let our light shine, that through our mission others may meet the Master.
