Mark 10:21  Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.  For so many in this world there is One Thing keeping them from Jesus.  In the life of the rich young ruler it was POSESSIONS.  For many it is PRIDE that keeps them from Jesus.   In some cases it is PEOPLE that stand in the way of trusting Jesus.  Still others fail to come to Jesus because they are lovers of PLEASURE.   Stop for a moment and reason… Is there ANYTHING worth dying and going to Hell over?  Notice in our text, that though Jesus knew this young man’s response,  He still loved him!
Your pride, posessions, or love of pleasure will not stop Jesus from loving you.  Perhaps you know someone today and there is ONE THING keeping them from Jesus.  Please let them know you love them and Jesus loves them too.  Pride was my downfall.  Having been a church member for six and a half years, it was not easy to swallow that pride and admit my need of the Savior.  Oh happy day, when pride went out the window and grace came in!  Consider this truth…Mark 8:36  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  In the end, all will know, there’s nothing in this world that is worth losing your soul.  Do you know Jesus?  He loves you!  Amen.  Pastor
