Greatness in Serving…

Matthew 20:28  Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.  The word minister in our text simply means… to be a servant, attendant, domestic, to serve, wait upon.  Jesus did not come to be served,  but to serve!  Great men in the Bible like Paul, Peter, James, and Jude opened their writings with their name followed by… ” A servant of Jesus Christ.”  There can be no greater honor than to be a servant of the Lord.  Jesus cared for the children.   He cared for the sick.  He cared for the sinner.  He cared for the saints.  What if every child of God were to ask today, what can I do to be a servant?  Instead of what can others do for me… what can I do to help someone else today?  Here’s the truth, you and I will never be more like Jesus than when we are helping another.  Consider…
Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.  This is a powerful reminder, that though noone on earth may recognize your service, God does!  To the true servant,  that’s all that matters!  Amen.  Pastor
